    Carton is released only after the recipient enters the system-generated OTP on the driver's app. The OTP is delivered to the registered phone via SMS or WhatsApp — wrong recipient, no release.

    Photo proof of delivery

    Driver app captures a geotagged photo of the carton at the doorstep, plus an optional recipient photo where SOP demands it. Every PoD has lat/lng, timestamp and device ID stamped into the file metadata.

    E-signature + ID capture

    On regulated goods (pharma, controlled substances, B2B high-value) the recipient signs on glass and the driver captures ID proof. Full audit trail attached to the invoice.

    Live route + delivery team tracking

    Leakage prevention

    Why leakage shows up in a warehouse — and how OTP closes each path

    "Shrinkage" in outbound logistics rarely shows up as obvious theft. It's the carton that left the dock on Tuesday and "must have been damaged in transit" by Thursday. The driver who delivered eight of ten cartons and the customer who signs for the missing two next week. The route that quietly added a 12-km detour at every Wednesday's run. Individually each one is a rounding error. Stacked across a year, it's a P&L item.

    OTP Based Delivery closes the three operational paths that leakage flows through.

    Path 1 — diversion between dispatch and customer

    Carton leaves the dock, never arrives, gets quietly written off as "damaged" or "missing in transit." The platform binds every carton to a specific dispatch and customer; the carton stays "in transit" in the WMS until the right OTP is entered at the right geofence. No silent disappearance.

    Path 2 — sleight-of-hand at the handoff

    Driver hands over only half the order, gets the customer to sign anyway, brings the rest back and re-sells / resupplies. With OTP + photo PoD, the recipient can only verify what was actually received — partial-delivery becomes a flagged exception with a reason code, not a closed delivery.

    Path 3 — "RTO games" and ghost reattempts

    Driver claims customer wasn't home and returns the carton. With geofenced stop verification + photo of door, "not home" needs evidence — a doorstep photo, a timestamp showing the driver was actually within the geofence, and an attempted-delivery audit trail. Ghost reattempts stop being free.

    Rollout in two phases

    How does OTP Based Delivery actually reduce warehouse leakage?

    Every carton has a system-generated OTP that the recipient enters on the driver's app. The carton cannot be closed as 'delivered' without the right OTP. That breaks the three classic leakage paths — diversion at consolidation, sleight-of-hand at handoff, and 'damaged-in-transit' write-offs. Once every doorstep has a verified OTP, photo and geofence, undelivered or partially-delivered cartons surface immediately as exceptions, not at month-end reconciliation.

    Is the digital proof of delivery legally admissible?

    Yes. The PoD bundle for each delivery — OTP capture timestamp, doorstep photo with EXIF lat/lng, optional recipient e-signature, driver and device ID — meets the evidentiary standards required under the Indian Evidence Act for electronic records and the IT Act, 2000. For regulated cargo we capture additional metadata (Schedule H+ for pharma, recipient ID for high-value B2B). The full PoD bundle is exportable as a signed PDF on demand.

    What real-time visibility does the warehouse supervisor get on the delivery team?

    Live GPS pings every 30 seconds for every active driver. Planned route vs actual route is overlaid on the same map. Geofenced stops light up green when the driver enters and red when they leave. ETA recalculates as traffic shifts. Idle-time alerts fire if a vehicle stops outside any planned stop for more than the configured threshold. Supervisors stop calling drivers for status — the dashboard already shows it.

    How long does a warehouse rollout take?

    Typical timeline is two weeks for the pilot (single warehouse, 5-10 drivers, integration to your WMS) and another four to six weeks to scale across all your dispatch points. We bring our own implementation team — your IT team's role is approving the WMS webhook and provisioning the dashboard logins. Pilot success metrics — RTO rate, dispute rate and time-to-PoD — are agreed before kick-off.

    Does it work for businesses that already use a 3PL or a courier aggregator?

    Yes. You can run OTP Based Delivery alongside any existing 3PL relationship. Two common patterns: (1) your own fleet for B2B / high-value runs, 3PL for B2C — OTP runs on the inhouse leg; (2) hybrid — OTP wraps the 3PL's PoD with your own OTP + photo layer for cartons above a threshold value. Both work without ripping out anything you've already paid for.

    What does the driver app need to run on?

    Any Android 9+ handset with GPS and a camera. The app is sub-30 MB, works in low-connectivity mode (deliveries queued offline, synced when back online), and is designed for one-handed use because drivers usually have a carton in the other hand. iOS build is available on request for premium fleet teams.

    How does OTP Based Delivery handle wrong number or recipient unavailable?

    Three configurable fallbacks: (1) regenerate OTP to an alternate registered number on the customer's account, (2) supervisor override with reason code (used sparingly, logged in the audit trail), (3) attempted delivery with photo evidence + reason code, carton returns to the warehouse for re-attempt. Each fallback is reviewed in the daily exception report, so abuse patterns surface quickly.

    Is the system DPDP-compliant for handling recipient phone numbers?

    Yes. Recipient phone numbers are processed on the lawful basis of contract performance (delivery). Consent for marketing notifications is captured separately. PII at rest is encrypted with AES-256; data is hosted in India (Mumbai region) by default, with EU and GCC residency available.
